Bronte Commercial Parking Expansion
A review of the commercial parking program in Bronte considering the community needs, lengths of stay and parking locations.
About the project
The Bronte Commercial Parking Expansion, approved by Council on August 11, 2025, is going live. Effective January 12, 2026, paid parking will be implemented on the newly approved streets:
- Sovereign Street (south side between Bronte Road and Jones Street)
- Marine Drive (both sides between Jones Street and Nelson Street)
This expansion builds on the success of the Bronte commercial paid parking program, which aims to improve vehicle turnover and support local businesses by increasing parking availability.
Parking rates
Sovereign Street (south side between Bronte Road and Jones Street)
- Hourly rate: $2 per hour (9 hour maximum)
- Daily rate: $8
- Monthly permit rate: $55*
Marine Drive (both sides between Jones Street and Nelson Street)
- Hourly rate: $1.50 per hour (5 hour maximum)
- Daily rate: Not applicable
- Monthly permit rate: Not applicable
Payment options
- HONK mobile app or HONK “Text to pay”
- Pay-by-plate machines located in the area
- *For monthly permits on Sovereign Street, purchases must be made through the Town’s online services.
Paid parking will be operated Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., consistent with other municipal parking areas.
