Provincial Offences Act Disclosure Requests

How to request disclosure from the Town of Oakville Prosecutor's Office. 

Information about disclosure requests only applies to offences under the Provincial Offences Act, which are prosecuted by the Town of Oakville.  

Disclosure is the process by which the prosecution provides the defence with all relevant information in its possession or control that may be used in the case, so that the defendant can make full answer and defence.

Offences you can request disclosure about include:

  • Fire Protection and Prevention Act
  • the Building Code Act
  • various Town of Oakville by-laws enforced by Town of Oakville staff

Making a disclosure request

The Town of Oakville Prosecutor’s Office will only provide information in disclosure that relates to the charge and that is in the Office’s possession. 

Disclosure will only be provided to the person charged (defendant) or to their authorized representative.

We ask that you make your disclosure request six to eight weeks prior to the trial date.

To request disclosure, please complete the Disclosure Request Form (pdf) and deliver it:

  • By mail to the Town's Prosecutors’ Office at 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, Ontario L6H 0H3; or
  • By email it to disclosure@oakville.ca

Halton Court Services

All Town of Oakville prosecutions will take place at the Halton Court Services Provincial Offences Court, located at 4085 Palladium Way, Burlington.
