Burnhamthorpe Road

A Character Study and Class Environmental Assessment of the current Burnhamthorpe Road and a road design for the new section between Ninth Line and Sixteen Mile Creek

As William Halton Parkway has been built, sections of Burnhamthorpe Road have been transferred to the Town of Oakville, from Halton Region.

William Halton Parkway, just north of Burnhamthorpe Road, is being constructed to address future east-west travel demands in this area, replacing the regional road function of Burnhamthorpe Road.

Improvements to Burnhamthorpe Road to reflect its new function will be constructed. Design work begins in 2024. The design is informed by the Burnhamthorpe Road Character Road Study which was completed in 2014.

This project will support the objectives of the North Oakville Secondary Plan, which envisions a vibrant, mixed-use community that promotes sustainable modes of transportation.
