Municipal Greenhouse and Conservatory
The town's greenhouse and conservatory are open to the public and available for rent for programs and private events.
The town’s greenhouse and conservatory, located at 1100 Cornwall Road, is open to the public and available for rent for programs and private events.
Staff and volunteers at the greenhouse grow the greenery and flowers that are planted in Oakville's parks and median gardens and used in hanging baskets and planters across the town. In addition to providing Oakville with beautiful flower displays that change seasonally, the conservatory showcases an array of plant-life, a pond, and a waterfall.
The conservatory is open to the public:
- January 16 to June 30: Seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- July and August: Closed to the public (open for permitted events only)
- September 1 to January 15: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Public holidays: Closed to the public
Access to the greenhouse for tours, photography sessions, and wedding ceremonies requires a booking.

Tours will take visitors through the showroom and are free of charge.
Availability:
- Tours are one hour and can accommodate up to 20 people.
- Requests must be received a minimum seven-days’ notice before the booking date.
- Tours must be booked during operational hours only. Please email greenhouse@oakville.ca for availability.
Tours are not available:
- March 1 through May 1
- May 15 through June 15
- Public holidays
Photography permits includes access to the conservatory for the purpose of photography sessions. The outdoor patio is only available from June 15 until Thanksgiving.
Lighting in the conservatory from November to March is limited after 4 p.m. therefore, artificial lighting is recommended.
There are no power sources available in the greenhouse for use.
- Capacity is 20 people including all guests, officiants and bridal party, etc.
- Minimum of 14-day notice required before booking date.
Fees:
- Weekdays – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is $171.15 per hour plus tax.
- Weekends/Evenings – after 3 p.m. and holidays - $205.00 per hour, minimum three hour charge for booking
- Non-Resident fees apply for all bookings -- $44.10 per booking plus HST.
Wedding ceremonies include access to the conservatory and/or outdoor patio, small signing table and chairs. The outdoor patio is only available from June 15 until Thanksgiving.
- Bookings are two hours minimum.
- Max capacity is 20 people including all guests, officiants, and bridal party, etc.
- Minimum of 14-day notice required before booking date.
Fees:
- $107.64 per 2 hours plus tax
- Non-Resident fees apply for all bookings - $44.10 per booking plus HST.
Complete prices will be quoted at the time of booking as additional fees may apply.
Cancellations and refunds:
- Requests for refunds must be received by the town 14 days prior to the event. With less than 14 days’ notice prior to booking, rental fees will be non-refundable.
- Cancellation of a booking is subject to an administration charge of $10.00.
