Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility Multi-Year Plan

Our commitment to initiatives that embrace inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility.

The Town of Oakville is committed to being an inclusive workplace and community where everyone feels they belong. Inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility not only benefits employees and residents, but the overall success and sustainability of our organization and the community.

We have completed a draft of the multi-year plan (pdf) to support inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) both within our organization and the community. It is a shared responsibility with goals and actions to further our IDEA efforts and enhance community belonging. The draft multi-year plan was shared with Council at their December 18, 2023 meeting.

Community feedback period has closed

A big thank you to the community for sharing your thoughts on the draft Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility Multi-Year Plan (pdf).

Staff will be reviewing the feedback and will be presenting the final plan to Council in the second quarter of 2024. Check back for updates.
