The Planning department, in accordance with the Planning Act, enacts provincial legislation that sets out the ground rules for land use planning, how land use planning is controlled and how applications to develop land are permitted. To obtain permission and/or approval to make use of, or develop a property within the Town of Oakville, applications must be filed with the Planning department, related to the type of development that the Owner of the lands is seeking.
